Exhibitor Spotlight: Hatfield and McCoy Jerky

It all began in 1862….

Two rural neighboring families living along the West Virginia-Kentucky border lived conflicted lives along the Tug Fork of the Big Sandy River in the years 1862–1891. William Anderson “Devil Anse” Hatfield was the leader of the West Virginia Hatfields and the McCoys of Kentucky were led by Randolph “Ole Ran’l” McCoy. The feud has been become known as one of the most bitter feuds in American history and has become synonymous with the perils of honor, justice, and vengeance.

Rooted in old family recipes, pride of name, and tradition is where Hatfield and McCoy Jerky began.

Long trail hikes can be exhausting if you are traveling without a beef snack that can provide you with protein and a slight kick to keep you going. Black Powder is the original black pepper and sea salt with just enough spice to be a mild everyday jerky on any trail.

You’ll find a spicy Chile flavor when you bite into this jerky that followed by a unique flavor of revengeful Sriracha. This award-winning flavor is their most popular jerky that contains real bacon strips.

Bootlegging was common among the Hatfield’s and McCoy’s, making their combination of fine whiskey and beef jerky a perfect match. This taste starts with sweet whiskey and remains to the finish. Marinated for 24 hours, Sweet Whiskey Beef is their most unique flavor.

We suspect that the Hatfield’s and McCoy’s probably started their day with a hearty breakfast of real strips of bacon drizzled with maple to sweeten the with a hearty serving of eggs. Bacon jerky is perfect for not only breakfast but for a sweet salty snack throughout the day.
